Capeside High is a public high school on Dawson's Creek, located in Capeside, Massachusetts.
About[]
Capeside High School, or CHS, is the ideal learning environment for our local teens. Boasting superior science, math and history departments, Capeside High is also proud of its elective alternative departments including art, music, and film. Last year, the film department was proud to have filmmaker and CHS graduate Nicole Kennedy as a guest film teacher, and in his first year at Capeside, Principal Green says he hopes to continue to bring such talent to the campus. This year, a student-run, faculty supervised online newspaper brings the latest from Capeside High into homes all over the world![1]
School Spirit[]
Capeside High's official school colors are blue and yellow. The athletics team and mascot are the Minutemen with it's very own Minuteman mule[2]. Pep rallies are held in the gym on Fridays before football games.

Trivia[]
- Early in the Pilot, we see a different façade for Capeside High and various signs featuring "Home of the Wildcats" but the mascot and location are quickly amended to the Capeside Minutemen for the remainder of the series. This is due to filming taking place at a local high school in Wilmington, NC for the pilot presentation.
BEHIND THE SCENES
- Exteriors for Capeside High were filmed on the University of North Carolina - Wilmington Campus. Alderman Hall received "Capeside High School" signage during filming and served as the primary setting for CHS. Occasionally, Alderman's neighboring Hoggard Hall would be used for exterior shots including the shared quad. Most interiors were shot at EUE/Screen Gems Studios, also in Wilmington.[6] An exception being the school library in Detention, which was filmed inside of a real school.
- In 2003, a plaque was placed on a bench by the entrance doors of Alderman Hall at UNCW commemorating the "fond memories of Dawson's Creek's frequent use of UNCW"[7].
- The location can also be seen in the second season of Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty as Conrad Fisher's dorm, Alderman Hall, at Brown University.[8]
