Trivia[]

  • Grams reveals in this episode that she and Gramps were married for 46 years (possibly longer; a year later, she tells Jen and Jack how they did not live in the house by the Creek as newlyweds).[3] This would mean Grams & Gramps wed at some point in 1952, if not earlier.
  • Dawson tells Jen that his reaction to her history was totally wrong.
  • Jack moves back in with Andie and his dad.
  • Joey's mom dreamed of opening a bed and breakfast.
  • All the characters take turns revealing their favorite scents:
    • Grams - hickory burning in the hearth
    • Gale - vanilla
    • Dawson - phenylenediamine - a chemical used to process film
    • Jen - mothballs
    • Jack - kickapoo juice
    • Pacey - snow
    • Andie - a new car
    • Joey - bacon
  • Grams says, you truly love someone when you are content just watching them sleep by the fire; this is how the episode ends as Pacey watches Joey.

BEHIND THE SCENES

PRODUCTION NOTES

  • Originally titled "The Ice Storm," the writers intended this episode to be centered around the gang locked in the high school all night during a winter storm.[6] The story unfolded with Pacey and Joey getting trapped in a storeroom where Pacey's feelings for her surface. They fall asleep sharing a sweater and wake up with Joey in Pacey's arms. Parts of the scrapped story, even lines of dialogue, were reused in the Season 4 episode Late, with Joey and Drue Valentine getting stuck in the storeroom of the Yacht Club.[7]
