Gretchen Witter is a recurring character on Season 4 of WB teen drama Dawson's Creek. She is portrayed by Sasha Alexander.
Character
Pacey's smart, beautiful older sister who dropped out of college, appears in the season four premiere. It is revealed later in the season that Gretchen dropped out of college because she got pregnant (and had a miscarriage). She befriends Dawson, helping him through his breakup with Joey and Pacey and sharing an interest in music with him. Dawson and Gretchen develop feelings for each other and eventually start a relationship. The relationship is short-lived, as Gretchen begins to feel that she and Dawson are in different places in their lives, as well as Joey being an obstacle.
