When Andie begins to slowly get over Pacey, Will, a childhood friend who moved away, visits Pacey and joins them all on a spring trip to Dawson's aunt Gwen's house. In spite of herself, Andie finds herself charmed by Will. They flirt and eventually it becomes deeper as Will opens up to Andie about his emotionally abusive father. Andie talks to Pacey about Will and Pacey senses there's something going on. Andie doesn't know how she feels but tells Pacey she thinks it's better if they're honest with each other about these things. After the trip, Will asks Andie out on a date and borrows a row boat from Dawson for it. As he rows them across the creek, things get a bit awkward as Will may have gone a bit too big for a first date. He pivots as Andie mentions greek mythology and tells her the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, unknowingly prefacing the end of the night when Andie is shocked to find Pacey, Dawson and Joey in a fight when they return the boat. She learns that Pacey and Joey have been having a secret affair and feels betrayed and devastated, leaving in tears. Will goes after her to comfort her. While Andie is heartbroken, Will tries to talk to her about what happened and urges her to try and find forgiveness for them. Despite their romance being cut short, Will does help Andie start to heal from the heartbreak.
